The Co-operative also provides a range of programs and activities for the involvement of their students. Activities take place nightly in the school and include salsa dancing lessons and conferences and demonstrations on a variety of subjects including politics, Guatemalan history, problems of indigenous people, local poetry, handicrafts and current affairs. Weekend activities include excursions to neighbouring towns, hiking, kayaking and canope tours.
Participation in these activities gives students an opportunity to explore further the histories and realities that have shaped San Pedro. Students can allow themselves to be absorbed into an intricate and complex ancient culture situated in an area of tranquil acceptance and overwhelming beauty.
